The ASME National Music Educator Awards seek to acknowledge music educators who demonstrate outstanding quality teaching and learning, impact within and beyond their teaching context, and engagement with the music education profession. Please join me in congratulating the following inaugural 2025 recipients.
Katie Hull Brown (Experienced Music Educator)
Dr Malcolm Cole (Veteran Music Educator)
Tim Topham (Music Educator – Commendation)
You can learn more about our inspiring recipients and their noteworthy contributions to music education on our national website. A special awards presentation will be held at our 2025 ASME National Conference, which will be held from 26 to 29 September in Brisbane. Discounted early bird registration is still available until 10 June.
We are also still accepting applications for the ASME Teaching Award for Excellence in Indigenous Music Education and the Callaway Doctoral Award. Applications for these prestigious awards close three months before the conference (26 June 2025).
Our conference awards suite is an important initiative in recognising and celebrating Australian music educators. Information on all previous award recipients can be found on our national website.
