MUSIC TEACHING STUDENT PLACEMENTS REQUIRED:
From our friends at ECU: We have a substantial number of students across six cohorts (undergraduate to Masters) who require placements in schools to complete their degree requirements. All of these placements differ in requirements and times of year. Given our growing student population, I am personally reaching out to ask if you can assist us. I have always found supporting pre-service teachers, both personally and professionally, rewarding.
If you can assist, please reply directly to our Professional Experience team (placementseducation@ecu.edu.au) and indicate any contextual information relevant to creating a successful placement. For example, your school might have a contemporary music focus or a focus on Kodaly-inspired music education.

KODÁLY WA CERTIFICATE
From our friends at Kodály WA: Held over two blocks delivered across the term 1 and term 2 school holidays, a Primary and Secondary Level 1, 2 and 3 certification course will be offered in Perth during 2026.
Successful completion will allow participants to fulfil the requirements of the Australian Kodály Certificate.

Block 1 (5 days): Tuesday 7 April to Saturday 11 April 2026.
Block 2 (5 days): Monday 6 July to Friday 10 July 2026.
*Participants must complete the full 10 days to be awarded their Certificate.

STEP INTO SHENANIGANS
From our friends at WAOSA: Do your students love Seven Jumps and Highway No. 1? Is Shenanigans music a favourite in your program? This workshop is your chance to deepen your understanding of folk dance pedagogy with Shenanigans original member and co-founder, Audrey Klein.
Across an immersive 1.5 days, participants will learn engaging folk dances from the Shenanigans repertoire and explore how folk dancing can extend learning and consolidate key musical concepts. Discover how simple, well-structured dances engage students physically, socially, and musically.
Participants will leave with practical strategies to enrich classroom programs through active, inclusive music-making and dance, while celebrating the joyful Shenanigans repertoire.

- Sunday: 9am – 12:30pm
- Bring your chosen instrument if you’d like to join the jam in the final session!
- Optional: Join us for lunch on Sunday following the workshop. Location TBC and at your own expense.
