Written by: dev

Topic: Music Fun = Learning in the Classroom – For early childhood and primary generalist teachersflyer here

Saturday October 31, 2020 – 8.45am – 12.30pm

Venue: Thebarton Community Centre, corner of South Road & Ashwin Parade.

During Term 3 this year, the SA Education Department’s Music Education Strategy has been supporting the provision of three professional development Packages in Music for early childhood and primary generalist teachers. ASME ran a 6 day PD Package called Music – Can Do! in Term 3, and now in Term 4 is offering this workshop.

  • This workshop will highlight some of the fabulous teaching and learning provided during the ASME Music – Can Do! Package. Hear from some of the teachers who completed the Package as they share their experiences of taking Music into their classrooms and seeing the impact that it is having on their students.
  • ASME Council members Chris Narroway, Kirralee Baldock and Luke Gray will provide practical ‘hands on’ ideas and activities which can be tailored to suit younger and older classes. These will include musical games and ideas for musical ‘brain breaks’ in the classroom – all of which involve music learning! There will also be an overview of the new Music scope and sequence and a glimpse of the curriculum writing currently in development.

Register here . Registrations extended – now close October 29. Cost is: $20 for ASME members, $50 for non-ASME members, free for student ASME members, $30 for student non-ASME members.

ASME recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first musicians, storytellers and educators of this land. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, acknowledging their ongoing connection to land, sky and waterways
