ASME Vic Graduate Teacher Award (Deakin) – Ben Taylor

Written by: Vic Admin

Huge congratulations to Ben Taylor for receiving the ASME Vic Graduate Teacher Award for 2023!

The ASME Graduate Teacher Award is made to Victorian preservice secondary music specialists who have distinguished themselves in their initial teacher education program. They have a high academic achievement across their music subjects and demonstrated engagement and commitment to music education both within the university and the broader professional community.

We are delighted that Ben has received this award for his distinguished work in the Deakin University Master of Teaching (Secondary). We also thrilled that our own FASME (Fellow of the Association of Music Education), Assoc Prof Dawn Joseph, was able to present Ben with his certificate. Along with with the framed certificate, Ben receives 12-months free membership of ASME and will be celebrated in both our Victorian Bulletin and at our 2024 ASME Afternoon in September.

Congratulations Ben!

ASME recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first musicians, storytellers and educators of this land. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, acknowledging their ongoing connection to land, sky and waterways
