TASME Chair
Andrea Marks

Chapter Council

Chairperson

Andrea Marks

Emmanuel Christian School

Andrea is the current Chair of ASME – Tasmanian Chapter. She is a classroom music teacher and also provides individual music tuition across the Hobart area.

Having loved music since childhood, Andrea trained as a music teacher and has taught in Queensland and Tasmania over the past 32 years in high school, primary school and private tuition.

Andrea believes that music is vital; not only to every child’s education, but to their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.  She feels that as music educators, we have a responsibility to provide those in our care with the best opportunity to develop their musical skills and love of music enabling them become well-rounded citizens.

As Chapter chair, Andrea intends to work with the council to provide members with high quality Professional Learning opportunities, enabling them to feel supported in their teaching roles and further develop their skills.
