The ASME XXV National Conference will be held 26-29 September, 2025 at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University, Brisbane, Queensland.
Music Ahead emphasising the need for music education to look towards the future.
Music Ahead pledges to pioneer innovative pathways in music education for an inclusive and diverse future. The conference aims to inspire conversations about the purpose, ethics and values of music education, reflecting on the past and looking towards the future, embracing new possibilities afforded by digital spaces, and celebrating inclusivity. Importantly, Music Ahead will grapple with these critical questions:
- How will music education navigate a pathway through an increasingly crowded digital cultural space?
- What does it mean for Australian music education to truly celebrate inclusivity?
- What does music education advocacy look like in the 21st Century?
- What does it mean to educate for musical thinking, doing and being?
