Free membership for tertiary students

Written by: Jason Goopy

The Australian Society for Music Education National Council recently met and unanimously endorsed a motion to continue supporting tertiary students with free annual membership to the association. This decision follows a highly successful two-year trial and is viewed as an investment in the future of our profession.

Full-time tertiary students studying music or music education are eligible for free ASME membership for 12 months. Joining or renewing on our website (www.asme.edu.au) only takes a few minutes and students are asked to provide their student ID and the institution where they study. They will enjoy benefits such as being part of a professional community, discounted rates to professional learning, receiving local and national news regarding music education, and access to our new website Resource Hub.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support our future music educators, and we encourage you to spread this news widely amongst your networks.

With best wishes

ASME recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first musicians, storytellers and educators of this land. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, acknowledging their ongoing connection to land, sky and waterways
